Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Penny Feinstein-Ranan. I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have travelled the world and lived in numerous countries. Currently, I reside in the Los Angeles area. In my heart of hearts, dance and movement are my passion. I am an avid supporter of holistic alternatives for achieving and maintaining health and well-being.
What set the groundwork for my life long dedication to various forms of body work was, I beleive, my innate kinesthetic orientation toward life. The only way I can describe it is that I came into this world primarily as "a mover". From as far back as I can remember, I have been absorbed in the magical discovery of exploring myself through dance and movement. Through this medium I experienced the innately healing power of wholeness that expressive movement brings. This inner knowledge and urge has remained with me and emerged in different forms throughout my life always drawing me towards working with others who need help reconnecting with their own body and bodymind.
As a massage therapist, I have particular success in treating people who suffer from seemingly unresolvable muscular pain, tightness, discomfort. My unique blend of osteopathic (positional release) and orthopedic massage/bodywork techniques produce profound results and are carefully designed to address the individual needs of each client. I particularly enjoy the extraordinary process involved in working on women who are dealing with reproductive issues. Additionally, I work with special needs children using both my movement and bodywork skills which have proven to be beneficial.
I have been a massage therapy/bodywork practitioner since 1990 and am certified by the State of California. I am also certified in pregnancy massage, teach the ancient art of parent infant massage, am a registered dance/movement therapist and have been passionately dedicated to body/mind professions since 1980. I have also worked internationally in Israel and Cambodia.
On a more personal note, I am married with two young adult children who continue to request bodywork from me. And Duke, our Mini Australian Shepherd, loves getting worked on as well!
